Whoops

See, I seem to do this every time! Start a journal and never keep up with it. Ah well. At least I write in here sometimes.

Hopefully I won't sound all discombobulated (is that even a word?) this morning, I just woke up and I'm rather out of it :).

Faythe is 5 months old now and is almost crawling. She gets into the crawling position and just rocks back and forth or puts her feet out flat like she's doing military pushups. She also just got her first teeth, 2 of them at the same time...both on the bottom front. I always knew she was teething, now I have proof, ha! I was going to post some pictures but I have yet to put them on my website so I will post them when I get them on there. I am so behind with pictures!

I'm going to a wedding today, should be a lot of fun. It's for a friend of mine that I met a few years ago when I was doing data-entry for Canada Revenue Agency. Her name is Vanessa and we had so much fun together. I really regret that we have not been able to spend much time together the last year or so. Hopefully we can fix that. She is so much fun to be with and so easy to talk to. For my birthday a couple years ago she took me to this town called Fort Langley. It was so cute! Reminded me a lot of little towns back home, especially Nauvoo (except there's no temples ha!). I think that if we have to stay in the BC area we will most likely move to Langley at some point. It's close enough to downtown that we can still go anytime we want but far enough away that it kinda feels like my home town (albeit bigger). Heck maybe we might be able to afford a house there too!

I'm making a corn souffle for the wedding and I have one thing to say....don't use 1 percent milk when you're cooking! It's like cooking with water GAH. I have learned the hard way unfortunately. I had to almost quintuple the recipe to thicken it up again (quadrupled normally since it is a reception and all!). Okay so maybe talking about recipes and milk is boring but hey it happened to me today!

Last time I posted we were on our way back to my hometown of Ottawa. I had a great time, it was wonderful seeing my family and friends and being able to share Faythe with them all. We are hoping to go home for Christmas, depending if my work will let me go or not (Christmas really happens at the worst time of the month for me...I'll have to try and close 3 branches in 3 days!!). I'm crossing my fingers....it will be Faythe's first Christmas and I would really like it to be with my family in Illinois. Besides, this is the year we go to Illinois for Christmas anyway!

Oh and as far as me not getting back into the original Everquest again....apparently I lied because I'm back into it again. Although since the hubby has been playing Star Wars Galaxies so much (and I hate how EQ runs on my pc), I haven't played EQ in about a week. I decided to just go ahead and play until November when EQ2 finally comes out. Although I do have to say that the new character models for EQ2 are terrible I just hope hope hope that they change it before the game comes out.

Better go get ready for the wedding!

Saffyrre

Tiny bit of history on my nick...when I used to play Dungeons and Dragons in highschool (yes I played D&D in highschool), I had this really kick-ass character that I named Sapphire. She was a drau elf thief but she was one of the few "good" ones (she had sapphire-blue eyes hence the name). Unfortunately I was sick one night and my then-boyfriend decided to continue to play my character and she died! Ahh sad times!

Anyhow, when my hubby and I got into Everquest about 4 years ago, I decided to go with Sapphire again. Unfortunately so did about a thousand other people so I had to change the spelling. Ever since then, any type of role-playing game I get into I am always Saffyrre. I have really been missing EQ lately (got Saffy to a lvl 62 Enchanter!) but I refuse to get into the original again when EQ2 is right around the corner. City of Heroes will just have to do for now!

Just tried to update my profile and it wouldn't let me...I'm really starting to get frustrated with this website!! It just hangs and hangs and hangs. Hopefully they will get it fixed soon.

Just got Babylon 5 season 3 DVD's yesterday for my hubby for Father's Day. DAMN those things are expensive. We're kinda TV-DVD junkies. We have all of Buffy, Angel, Southpark, Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, Stargate and my one lonely season of Firefly. We only have 2 seasons for Babylon 5 because they cost AT LEAST $100 a pop. Our friends brought over all 3 CSI (original) seasons as well as Smallville, Roswell and Friends. It's so fun to just sit back and watch them all. I really love CSI. William Peterson rocks as Gil Grissom. He can nail those corny one-liners before the opening theme but man does David Caruso suck when he tries to do it for Miami. I really do not like CSI: Miami. I have a feeling I will feel the same about CSI: New York when it comes out. The original is always the best. Of course because of all of this bandwagoning, LV is going to lose Grissom next year since WP is pissed off that the network is doing so many spinoffs. He's one of the main reasons why I watch the show!

Also since having Faythe I've started looking into what different kid shows I like and I don't like (sorry but Barney is the devil and the Teletubbies are his hired goons). I really really love the Baby Einstein videos. I can't stop picking them up! Faythe seems to really enjoy them and I love how they incorporate classical music with images and colors that are appealing to babies. Faythe is watching Baby Beethoven right now. She also has Baby Bach and Baby Mozart. I just got her Baby Neptune which is all about water and Baby Gallileo which is all about (you guessed it) astronomy. They're just so damned cute!

3 more days and I'll be home in the good ol US of A. I can't wait to go home. I miss my family so much. It gets really hard being so far away from them sometimes. I'm so close to them, my brother is my best friend, he married my best friend and they have 4 children. Plus my mother is also my best friend! Now with having Faythe, I sometimes feel guilty like I'm keeping her from them. She is 3 months old and beside my mother who was here when she was born, Tuesday will be the first time anyone in my family has even seen her before (in person that is). I wish we could move back home but it would be too hard for my husband and I to both leave our jobs and have to find new ones as well as a house, new furniture, yadda yadda yadda...ah maybe someday!

Well time to go give Faythe a bath :) Hubby's Dad is coming over today rather than tomorrow so I better get his granddaughter ready!

Bah

I've been trying for the last two days to edit my last post and it won't let me publish it GAH! It even has my husband so stressed out that he had to light up a cigarette! Okay he only thought about it for 10 seconds and declared it was time to smoke. Any reason is good for him HA!

I had wanted to put in a link to my pregnancy journal. If anyone would like to read it, go here:

Saffy's Baby Journal

I am curious to see if this will even post since I tried to do it yesterday and that didn't even work (yet I can republish my whole blog with no problem.. ). I have other things to say today but we'll just see if I can even post anything first!!

PS - WOW I look just like my Mom in this picture!

What, me worry?

Well here I go trying to start yet another online journal! Okay so this is only my second time but I wasn't so great with keeping up with the other! The other page was basically about my pregnancy and since I am no longer pregnant I thought it was time to start a new one.

I'm not going to go into who I am or where I'm from since the majority of that is done for me on my profile. The biggest news for me and what I'm most excited about right now is finally becoming a mother. After basically 10 years of wanting and quite a bit of that "trying", I finally have my daughter. She's such a little cutie now, she just turned 3 months and is at that stage now where everything is new. It's, "WOW I HAVE A HAND!!" and, "WOW I HAVE A FOOT" or the ever popular, "Hmmm...I wonder what THAT tastes like??". She also rolls onto her tummy all the time and is a cooing/talking machine. Although with the genes she got from her Mommy and Daddy she has no choice but to be a talker!! I just took the picture above yesterday and I love it.

My husband thinks it looks like a future graduation picture as if she is thinking about her future possibilities. I remember when I was younger and I did something to make my Mother worry, she always told me, "when you have a child of your own you will understand what I went through!" She is so right, even now at 3 months of age I worry about Faythe all the time. Will she have a good future, will someone break her heart, will she be strong and independent, will I be able to do everything I can to make sure that noone can hurt her? It's crazy all this worry! I hear it doesn't go away with grandchildren either :P. It's something I am going to have to get used to!
